Any advice for venturing into the woods?
I've just started skiing the trees this season and am really enjoying it. |

It's been warm this week in Killington and I had a chance to try out some of your ideas. The "gentle yet firm" thing is a real keeper. Today was that whole "r-word" thing, so I got soaked. Heavy slush was the order of the day, but not particularly tiring as long as I let the skis do the work. New Salomon Tornados have great float to go with their good carving. Nice for an all mountain ski. Thankfully it got cold again and is supposed to snow through the weekend. :D One additional Spring skiing consideration: Don't forget the Spring wax for those warm days. It really helps keep your skis from going slow or stopping in the grippy late-season snow. |

69. Use for propulsion on the lift line or the flats (did we really miss that one?)
70. Hold both poles up in front of you to absorb tree impact when you bite it in the woods. 71. Use to test the "edgability" of the snow. If you can stand your pole up in it it's not hardpack. So you Western skiers can quit crying.. 72. Brandish one like a spear over your head when you beat your rival down the hill. Singing Wagner is optional. 73. Confidently use them to bring timing and rhythm to your turns. That's one of my challenges these days. |

Great post pavelski.
I've been lurking for a while reading your brilliant technique tips. The tights thing is a little disturbing though... |
