Thanks for the info. Looks like they are getting some decnt snow there too. I see that there appears to be a gondale that goes up to Suisi from Oritsei. Is this a useful option?

Oz wines, very, very good. Often far superior to some of the French muck going around. |

Make me 3. Our first (and only thus far) trip ski was to Filzmoos. A great village and a great place for beginners to intermediates. |

Strange that you found Italy & France expensive. I booked something recently in Italy and found it cheaper than Switzerland & pretty much the same price as Austria. |

Dreading that I have done the wrong thing. No snow there at the moment from what I can gather. Not sure how hand it is to get to the higher slopes. Hard to work these things things out from the web.
Would anybody have any idea how hard it is to drive (AND PARK the car near a lift) from Ortisei\St Ulrich up to Selva Gardena\Wolkenstein? |

Ah, hadn't realised that. The price of the hotel we are looking at is not for the faint-hearted either!

We are pretty much novice skiers and are thinking of Ortisei in late December.
Any thoughts on; snow crowds access and condition of lifts etc. Is it a decent place etc? We have a 9 year old girl and are looking at staying here http://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotos-g194841-d1162382-Hotel_Cavallino_Bianco-Ortisei_South_Tyrol_Trentino_Alto_Adige.html#19898657 |
