Hey I own and run a chalet in Jasna, Slovakia. The mountain has everything to offer all levels and the apres is fabulous quality and cheap cheap cheap. Visit my website www.chaletslovakia.com for details. March week deals for £199 if you quote this website. Only 2 hrs flight time from the UK and a third of the price for grub and beers.... |

Today, Monday 3rd March it's been dumping and is set to continue until Thursday. The forecast on this website is not bad; but do cross-reference it with another site for an average forecast. Long-range mountain weather forecasts are not really worth paying attention to. |

I notice 'dgou' - the originator of this thoughtless thread hasn't come back to it yet.... It is great reading and clearly reflects the views of people who actually know the sport. |

Hey Trencher I used to live in Minnesota; place in the back beyond up country from Grand Marais on the Canadian border.... |

When you hook up your edge and face plant into the snow (it WILL happen), ideally your hands go down first. Decent wrist guards will be the first contact with the ground, thus absorbing a good chunk of the impact. Thus they are worn on the inside of the palm. If you can, get into the habit of clenching fists and landing on your forearms. Good luck... |

Opening day is always Dec. 15. I believe this is an agreement with the National Park, who own the land. Last year there was 3 foot of the stuff and people hiking the hill in November... |

Trencher knows what he is talking about. Don't run yourself round in circles about what is optimum. So many variables can affect your riding from day to day. Get happy with and used to the kit you've got. When you eventually do want to fiddle, only change ONE item for comparison ie. same boots and bindings on a different board. This way you can directly assess the new bit of kit. Enjoy the flexi board; they're top fun. |
