St Anton - Equipment Cartel?

I have to say that having shopped around independently the last 4/5 years in Saalbach, Kitzbuhel and Soll we did get better discount and even cheaper prices. This times was obviously sometimes due to the location of the shops to the lifts etc. I am in a group of 12 going to St Anton in January looking for the balance of a good price to the quality of the equipment and service provided so will be watching this space.
That been said the prices I am seeing for hire are not much different to what we were paying in Saalbach 2/3 years ago and that was when the Euro was stronger so it was a bit ouch!! then.

It is possible to get much cheaper ski hire from Mietski.com.

If you book early enough, you can get good quality skis for as little as €19 per week, though I think they do insist on additional insurance which will take cost up to about €35 - still way lower than any of the St Anton shops :wink: .

However, they are located in Pettneu, a few kms from St Anton which is awkward if you don't have transport. Still you could probably get a couple of taxis down there for your group and still save a significant amount.

Hi Wanderer. One of the lads in our group had this when we went to Lech in 2014. So last season he saw what he wanted then purchased them and then sold when he got back in the UK! A trifle excessive but after carriage fees he'd saved about £80.

I skied St Anton last season, we stayed at the Fairnet Hotel I contacted them before arriving and they sent me a link that got me some discount on arrival. Maybe were your staying could help.
