Work for a specialist chalet company not a mass market operator as your staff/guest ratio is likely to be better, and you will probably be in a resort with lots of other chalet staff.
It is hard work and the key is to be efficient. The first season you are lucky to get out of the chalet before midday, by the fifth you'll be out by 9.30 am!
A ski guide for the likes of Silver Ski is one of the hardest jobs (as you have to help out at meal times on top of your main job), and unless you like skiing with people slower than yourself, and enjoy acting as sheep dog, it will drive you mad, especially on powder days!
It's a fantastic experience and to be thoroughly recommended, but choose carefully!
