Just used Easy Jet to transport two sets of skis and poles in one double bag. Padded out with salopettes and socks.
EasyJet only charged £18 for the bag, and allowed 20kg. I was well within this - bout 17kg.
At check-in (both outward and return) they were not the least bit interested what was in the bag (ie one set of skis or two?). As long as you are within weight you are okay. :D :D :D

Doesn't all your gear get creased in your ski bag
NO, I put the skis in on the bottom in a light bag and then the stuff on top. The bag is just like a soft holdall bag, but longer
So if we are ever in the resort at the same time I will recognise you by your creased shirts
That be me, though I take a travel iron and my evening dress is crease free!
