Back to the plot,Tino,have you inspected the board and come to any conclusions as to what may be required?

It's easy I'm self taught from the internet and can do most things except a base grind 8)

Tino, The base edge guide is really only used to set the base bevel. For most users, it's enough just to run the diamond file along the base edge a couple of times, after side edge sharpening, to deburr.

The first thing you have to do is establish what bevels are on the board now. To do this, run a permanent marker along the edge. Put the diamond file in the guide, and make a pass, or two. Looking at where the marker ink has been removed, will tell you if you have the right angle set.
