Along with mobile phone, camera and piste map, a litre of cold water and a couple of mars bars and thats all you need.

Thermal emergency blanket.
Emergency outdoor matches & kindling pack.
Monocular.
Baguette & cheese.
Water
Laser pen
Ibruprofen
Charged-up GPS Mobile
Bobble hat & furry cap
Oakley prescription sunglasses/goggles
Camera
Medical details (blood group)& Contact details
2x Heat packs
Worst-case scenarios are either getting separated and then knocked-out in an accident or separated an lost in a dangerous area and having to spent the night outside.

The mobile doubles with my iPod. Only in a new resort do I take a map even, but I always know which piste I am on (nearest). My watch also has a compass, barometer and altimeter on it which would no doubt be useful hould I get lost or stuck and hd to communicate my location.

volcomdiva7 wrote:...all of the above and of course your EMERGENCY Insurance card with neccessary numbers AND a credit card for any accidents..better to be safe than sorry..have seen it happen where someone was not taken off the mountain as they couldnt pay for it then and there..shocking i know!!
Both are in my wallet. On the insurance note, I found out yesterday that I have been wasting my money. I am fuly insured anywhere in the world for health, loss or damage of equipment and 3rd party, I even have accident insurance so I dont have to claim on my medical and lose the rebate. Thinking this was all to good to be true I asked about what would happen should I need a whirlybird ride, oh thats covered up to 10k as well. So I have increased that to 25k and I will never buy ski insurance again.
