Can you fly direct Dublin to Verona? Transfer to Selva from Verona is about 2hours

There are direct flights from Dublin to Verona, from there you can get to the resorts on the Sellaronda using public transport, shared transfer (coach) or private transfer (taxi). Südtirol- Alto Adige Bus https://www.altoadigebus.com/ operates shared and private transfers.

Yes, OldAndy & Swingbeep, there is a winter service from Dublin to Verona on Tuesdays & Saturdays this coming year, so if it is still on for 2024 then that sounds like it might be our best way to go. Many thanks to you both and I'll look more at the logistics hoping things will be similarly fixed come booking time next September/October.

I did the Sela-Ronda several times. was living in Corvara or La-Villa.
Corvara has a very good and big skiing area close to it which is a bonus.
We usually were flying to Milan, Venice or Bergamo (Ryan Air) and going with a rented car to the village. Don't miss skiing to the Marmollada (from Arraba, near Corvara).
Having a car is a bonus too as you can start the day whenever you want in this giant area.
I was skiing most of Europe sites and loved the Sella Ronda area the most.

Many thanks Pinimage,

I'm not sure about car hire these days. I know it offers much more flexibility for travel but cost-wise it has apparently become rather prohibitive since Covid came along. I wouldn't rule it out but I prefer to use public transport wherever possible as a first choice.

Hi. I have been a regular out of Dublin to the Dolomites for several years. We have flown into Munich, Venice and Bergamo on different occasions, usually hiring a car or booking a taxi. However, as you have correctly noted carhire is currently much more expensive than in past years as are taxi transfers. Crystal do package trips via Verona and offer some nice hotels in Selva. Provided you are not travelling at mid-term, these can be a good and fairly priced option.

The skiing in the area is magnificent, particularly for intermediates who love cruising. However, please note that Selva is not a brilliant option for beginners.

Nightlife is a bit more sedate that, say, Austria or even France. However, there are a few places in Selva with a bit of life. On the other hand, food is generally excellent and very reasonably priced and the people are lovely. I would highly recommend the area.

To Selva ( or most other places on the Sella Rhonda there is a train from Verona to Bolzano and from there its a matter of looking up the bus schedules I have friends that do it to and from Campitello quite regularly and it is quite cheap..
