Lift operators are missing a trick here surely?
Couldn't the lift pass scanners be set up to simply register the microchip that was implanted with the vaccine, and then we can scan our arm for both lift pass and vaccination status?
Job done .....

Unless I'm badly mistaken British 12-15 year olds can access the lifts in both white and yellow regions providing that they are fully vaccinated (2 jabs) recovered or have a valid negative test certificate, but they can only access a restaurant in a yellow region if they are vaccinated or recovered. Eating in the hotel at which they are staying is allowed but eating out is not.

Bear in mind that there may be stricter local restrictions in place.

I have now found an English version of the of the information provided in the link above https://www.italia.it/en/covid19 "Ski slopes and ski lifts" is missing from the left-hand column of the table for the white zone.

In order to access the information in the microchip the lift companies would have to buy a licence, the cost would make lift passes unaffordable for most skiers!

I read somewhere official yesterday that Italy has now tightened the requirements to 2G (i.e. vaccinated or recovered) from the previous 3G requirements (vaccinated, recovered or negative test). Germany last week moved to 2G required to stay in a hotel as well as to enter bars, restaurants, etc. Thoroughly checked everywhere we went.

I think the 2G status is starting 06 Dec?

Between 6. Dec. and 15. Jan. a "Super Green Pass", which is only available to people who are vacinated or recovered will be required to access bars and restaurants in the white zones (it is only required in yellow zones at the moment), but it will not be required to buy a lift pass unless the ski resort is in an orange zone. Skiing is not considered to be a driver of infection, but bars and restaurants are.

In order to access hotels and self-catering accommodation and to eat in the hotel at which you are staying you also only need a basic green pass. This is not a very good translation but it should give some more info https://www.italy24news.com/News/284738.html

In order to control this the Italian verification app VerificaC19 has been given extra functionality, it can now differentiate between 2G (vaccinated or recovered certificates) and 3G (vaccinated, recovered or tested certificates). As the NHS COVID pass has been accepted as an equivalent to the EU Digital COVID certificate the NHS app should be OK. In German the words for vaccinated, recovered and tested all start with g, hence the use of 3G and 2G.

In theory when a Covid pass is required for access your ID should also be checked, the application of this has been patchy over the summer but it is likely to be tightened up during the winter. Foreigners in Italy are legally obliged to carry identification at all times. If you are an EU/EEA or Swiss citizen this may be either an ID card or passport if you are a 3rd country citizen you must carry your passport. If you get stopped by the police you could be held in custody until someone brings your ID.

As well as the national requirements there are also local requirements, it is being reported in the Italian press that from 4. Dec. it will be compulsory to wear masks outdoors in the central areas of Courmayeur and Cervinia, it is already compulsory to wear them at weekends and on public holidays in Aosta.

That's genius! I have had a load of those retractable pass holders sat in a draw for years, this gives them a new lease of life and ticks the box for sustainability. Probably a business opportunity there for someone too - bespoke custom-made printed vac cert QR code holders.
