The only reason I would go back to La Ros is to ski in La Thuille,, If you are an intermediats skier it is limited even for a week

I have been to Valloire several times. The ski area is superb the town is really pretty and has everything you need.
The people are really friendly there as they are not over run with drunk uk skiers.
Definitely definitely recommend it. Long runs and very varied.

Someone suggested Vars/Risoul - good call. Very quiet for a French resort. Risoul is a lovely little place, with ski in-ski out apartments. Lift system is a bit shonky mind. Some real bottom-bruising drag lifts (L'Homme de Pierre especially)

Go to valmeinier or valloire, they are the best resorts, have been about 8 times, snow has always been good, very pretty runs are excellent, always quiet on slopes even in half term, some great off piste through the woods, only time it gets a little busy is at the end of day around the main resorts, have been skiing in many resorts and this is by far my favourite place to ski, was supposed to be there last week. Not much Apres but some really good restaurants in valmeinier, not stayed in valloire.

Thanks all for your comments/ tips on Valloire. Sounds good and I've provisionally booked a fantastic looking massive apartment at great value, now lets hope we can travel when the time comes.
