We always DIY but it requires booking as soon as flights become available- usually in the Spring and using airbnb. It is usually the transfers that are the biggest expense and we aren't brave enough to hire a car.

I travel every January Edinburgh to Munich. Then catch the train from Munich airport to Worgl, €35. Taxi up to Niederau €22. B&B under €40.
From Worgl, you can also access Kitzbuhel, and the Skiwelt.

Bit the bullet. Going back to Pila with a TO, but one we know does a great job. Just under £2700 all in and possibly flying from a local airport if we are lucky.
