Tips on Mayrhofen

I think in many ways Mayrhofen is the perfect ski resort, decent snow record, good lifts, great town.

I love Mayrhofen, been 12 times, lots for everyone.

I have skied the Zillertal twice in the last three years. I had a car and went to a different area everyday. This included Mayrhofen, Ahorn, Gerlos, the Zillertal arena and Kaltenbach. Mayrhofen is often very busy and not the place for nervous skiers. A quieter area is Kaltenbach where there are generally less people and wide pistes. Also Gerlos is quieter but you do need a car. You can get there on skis from the arena but it is quite a long journey, certainly not recommend for less than competent, confident skiers. The connecting main lift closed due to wind when I was there so needed to wait at Gerlos for a bus back to the Arena where I had parked.

Yes probably should have been more exact, Zillertal has something for ever level of skier

I'm looking to go to hintertux in 5 to 9 jan.solo trip..just did damuls with family and it was beautiful.
