Hey Mate, just go for it. You'll be fine all around.
I was around your weight & totally unfit when I started, no issues, other than size 15uk feet, ended up buying a pair boots from a very good boot fitter.
Best advice is go to ski school, don't just follow your mates down the hill. You'll also be with similar level skiers & have a good craic. Have fun, enjoy.
