It's probably not ruined.
Having tried a few products I recommend you try the Nikwax products. I tend to buy larger quantities for my youngest daughter who is a veterinary student and these get the unpleasant stuff off and refresh the proofing on the breathable fabric.

Nikwax is a 2 stage process: Techwash to clean it then Txdirect to re-proof it.
It's a 2 stage process use the wash first and the proofer after (don't dry between)cycles in the washing machine.
eBay or veterinary suppliers are usually cheaper than the lifestyle/outdoor outlets particularly if you are likely to use it frequently.

After following this thread I thought I had better go and look at my ski Jackets..they both say wash in a machine ..cool wash do not dry clean do not tumble dry......https://www.thespruce.com/how-to-stay-dry-while-skiing-2147004

Yes, and very slow spin setting too. Aren't we protective over our jackets!!!!

Is it spray-able reproofing or it needs to be submersed in it?
