By the way, for ski hire lok on internet for skiset and snowbrainer to name just 2. Much cheaper than in resort or crystal ski prices and you use the same hire shops.
Skied: On snow, On water, On mud, On slush, On ice. Oh, and on a few dry slopes.

HariKari is all about reputation. It isn't that difficult, but you need to make sure theres some sun on it and a bit of snow if possible, don't do it on a cloudy icy day! Its seriously steep in sections, and really narrow at one part so you need to time your turns, or do what I did and just don't turn at that part and end up doing some ridiculous speed! Best of luck

Hey Richard, myself and my girlfriend are going early march. We're so excited, especially with the upgrades on the Penken. This run from the Ahorn looks excellent, for skiing back into towm on a fternoon:

This is red run 4 off the Ahorn.

If anyone has been this season, let me know what's your favourite restaurant/run! And have you attempted the Harikari!!

Flying with and staing with Neilson, got mountain experts as well!

Was there 3 years ago.
I would recommend the ski rental shop on top of the Penken lift.
Apres ski bar Bruck N Stadl in town was brilliant.
Favourite restaurant was located in 'Hotel Post' excellent traditional Austrian eatery.
Hotel Maria Theresa very comfortable.
Very nice town, good variety of skiing.
Love Mayrhofen, look forward to going back!!

Was in Mayrhofen 16th to 23rd January 2016.

Can confirm lift queues are no more the new gondola has sorted it.

Bar at the Penken bottom station, Ice Bar, is fantastic from 4 till 10, really lively with good music.

Used to go to Ahorn first thing most days for a warm up, not good for beginners as it gets really steep towards the bottom, then on to Penken.

Went to the glacier 2 days, 1/2 hour by free bus, both days nice and sunny and the views and skiing were fantastic.

Did the Kamikase on the last day, first time it was open, not funny at all, way too steep.
