Was in Soll the first week in January last year, yes there was greenery around but all the pistes were open. Been there mid January, 3 of the previous 5 years and it was fantastic. The whole of Europe has had such a mild start to the winter and many places including Soll it has been to warm to fire up the snow cannons. The temp is dropping and as Tecnamflyer has pointed out the cannons are are now on.

Make sure you get into the Salvenstadel Bar in Soll for Apres. You won't regret it.

We are in Soll now and transfer by bus (10 min) to Scheffau each day. Lifts are busy in the centre where ski schools operate but if you get away there are several good runs. First thing in the morning is best as does get slushy after lunch. Not the best conditions by far but at least you will be able to ski. Ski pass includes bus. Just got to make the best of it as everywhere sounds like poor snow at the moment.

Thanks JayHay99. Let's hope Xmas day and boxing bring a little more snow and they start up these snow cannons. Green valley on the web cams again this morning with redundant snow cannons.

Heading to Soll on Saturday and this forecast has definitely lifted my hopes!

Take the main gondola in Scheffau, ski down to the chairlift and then head over towards Brixen. Some good reds/blues open and nice mountain restaurants. Snow forecast looking
good for the next few days. Merry Christmas xxx
