That is indeed a problem, mostly for people not skiing in their own country. (People from France, Austria, Germany, US, Canada, Australia are mostly skiing in their own country on the other hand.)

Luckily the EU has laws in place lowering the prices per mb for roaming data to €0,20/mb in 2014. Besides, a lot of resorts are currently investing in wifi on the slopes and in the resort, because they see wifi as a unique selling point. Skiwelt Amadee has coverage throughout the resort, on every piste.

So it is indeed a problem for a small percentage of the skiing population, but luckily one that is currently resolving itself through innovation and legislation.

We are already offering features for people who can use roaming, but Snowciety is also completely usable with data off. We made sure of that..

Strange same posting in other ski chat sites?

Do you really want to contribute to chat or just do some free marketing?

We will see .

As said, I'm looking for feedback from people who are currently on the slopes. And as you can see I engage with people responding, answer questions, etc.

Is it strange to ask on different sites? I personally don't think so..

What do you guys think of an app with piste maps, GPS, snowfall updates, lift updates, info on local bars/ restaurants/? What other features would skiers want?
