Skiing at the end of the Season

Despite everyone saying that last year was terrible, even in high resorts, we could ski all the way back down to Oz en Oisans (part of Alpe d'Huez) until the last day of the season in late April.
Even in bad years big resorts have well preserved sectors so its worth getting local knowlege and last minute infomation.
Mind you, I've skiied in a metre of fresh stuff in late April at 1000m, though not often.
