Pay £30 for boots and your skiing will be poor. If you're going to ski, spend good money on brand new boots properly fitted.

Normally you get what you pay for, but that does not mean to say that you have to pay mega bucks
for your equipment, my suggestion would be buy yourself a decent pair of "daisy roots", then if the skis are only for local use then shop around for a more older up to date pair of skis.
