SnowPulse, that's the fella, still can't get a coherent answer on if you can fly with the cartridges in the hold. Some say absolutely not, others say European carriers will if you declare them. Seemsva bit dishy washy.

Tino, you need to carry the IATA Regs with you, book the bag on in advance, and declare it at check in. The Snowpulse fires on air not gas, AFAIK and they are allowed, just as ABS packs are. Naturally most check in staff will end up calling their boss when you check in. Plenty of discussion on SH about this currently with some SH heading to Chile etc. If you need advice, try an email to snowshepherd.co.uk they sell them and are dealing with this stuff lots.

Yes, it's mutually beneficial to carry the kit, everybody benefits if all are equipped.

Here is the document you need Tino http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/cargo/dangerous_goods/Documents/DGR52_Table23A.pdf you should get approval (in writing) before checking it in.

Cheers guys for all your help, I'm tempted to get one before I head to Chile, but the bank manager will have an episode :(
