Its time for this seasons first "Guess the slope" thread

Lets get right in the mood for the season ahead, and have the first picture thread. We did this a few times last season, but its been a while, and I like nothing better than looking at pictures of mountains covered in snow.

Todays thread asks you to name the resort and the particular piste/building/lift.

Heres your starter for 10:

And there was me thinking no one would guess :roll:

It's Mayrhofen but I can't remember the number of the run and I don't know the name of the building.

I had a head on 'cuddle' with a fellow skier quite near there.

You got it Tino.
It is indeed the fantastic view from the top of the Horberg, having ridden up on the Schneekar lift. Red 7 is many peoples favourite piste on the Penken area, with varied terrain and a long run from top to bottom. Black 17 is a fairly steep but wide straight run back to the bottom of the Horberg, and a run on which most people end up on the left of because of its camber.
Red 27 is a shorter but enjoyable run down the back of the Horberg, which can get crowded and quite moguled. Skidaddle had a nasty collision there in 2007 when someone skied straight into the back of him. Ellistine had a gentle head on with someone on Black 17 in 2008, just before someone attempted to kill me on a different run further round.

That picture was taken after the 2nd ride up that morning, at around 9.30am. Blissfully quiet, fantastic conditoins, cold but sunny and good visibility. A perfect days for skiing, and the kind of conditions I love to take pictures in.

I LOVE red 7, and I feel surprisingly confident off piste on black 17. Never done red 27, but hell I will in a few weeks.
