We are terminal intermediate skiers, and found the black coming down from the Sansicario side/top of the Sestriere gondola (32) quite doable and enjoyable (if tiring). The run is currently very wide. In fact we found it easier than the Red from Montgenevre back to Claviere. However weather and snow conditions were good. There was a serious incident near the bottom which may have been an inexperienced skier who got out of control.
If you are on the Sauze side and want to go to Sansicario, you can ski down to the bottom of lifts 11 / 12 and have a good look at your return path before committing. Personally I am not a fan of the Sansicario's rubbish infrastructure.
