I seriously hope this forecast is wrong. This is what we like in December and January, but in April it only causes annoyance, a waste of weekend.

123cm forecast for Chamonix.
154cm forecast for Soldeu.

Quick, quick!

This was the 10-14 day forecast for this weekend. It is 20 degrees(C) in Soldeu village today. And I note that 50cm+ is being forecast for Saturday 06/05.

The detail will change; look for the patterns.

12 days ago (see posts on this thread, previous page), GFS was pushing the possibility of cold and snow coming in 10 days... i.e. around the 26/27th.

Looks like the temperature dropped a little for the 27th...

As we say, on thousands of pages, "Mountain weather is extremely dynamic". As are the forecasts.

At the risk of repeating myself; your expectations of long-range forecasts are wrong. What is forecast for 10 days time will be revised. The forecasts update 4 times a day; so the forecast for the 10th May is going to be revised over 40 times between now and then; some revisions will be small, and some may be substantial.

The detail will change; look for the patterns.

I don't think I ever skied that late unless for the end of season pond summing event, and we already biked downhill last weekend, but I had the best day of the season yesterday: powder turns all day, skied back side of Mont Fort, took our beginner friend down its front side, because it was in such a great condition. 8 hours of skiing. The longest day've I had this season for sure, including ski touring. Today it was extremely icy and crunchy in the morning so not as enjoyable, but slopes were quiet and the sun was shining. Good way to finish this season. Now let's hope next season will be a good one. This season, not counting a handful of great days, was pretty abysmal and I am glad to have it out if the way.

You're not alone thinking that, but sounds like you managed to end on a high note at least.
