There used to be a really evil drag lift on the Chalvet area in Montgenevre - is it still there?

I have never been so relieved to reach the top of a drag, having clung on for all I was worth with a sheer drop with no netting or anything to my left and a wall of snow to my right.

Did a T-Bar last week on the glacier in VDI - the rep wanted to do it to gain maximum edge of map on one side before heading all the way to Tignes les Brev on the other

I'm not a fan of any sort of drag but wouldnt waste 30 mins to go round one

Moslty still in France I think. Horrible on a board, fine on skis :)

Sorry Nell but I think you have that wrong .... I have skied France, Italy, Switzerland and have never found one, the only place I have not skied is Austria the home of the T Bar

I meant Austria - so easy to get them mixed up 8)

Worst one was from La Plagne (en Vanoise) over to La Belle Plagne many years ago - probably different now. The longest cross country button to quote the instructor. She said 'No one fall off on this'. Spent the last third of it with the button under my chin - and arms coming out of there sockets - didnt want to let go. Have been terrified of them ever since.

I have no problem with drag lifts. I would always choose a chair over a button lift, but would not refuse to use one if it was the best option.

Must try to get over the fear - I do not use them correctly- too nervous to sit on them. Stand upright and hang on to pole with my arms. Must try better

Jeez, no wonder you dont like them.
Put the button between your legs and stand up as if youre skiing, and relax.
Time to look around and enjoy the scenery.

Without meaning any disrespect you're doing it right already! Do not sit down. Just assume a skiing position and let the button pull/drag you along. Imagine a friend behind you giving you a push in the lower back with their arm. If you tried to sit down you'd fall, but if you just stand in a skiing position and accept the push then it will all come together. Does that make any sense?

Soon you can let go of the pole and much on a twix or some such.

Owen.
