Thinking of this "flapping" issue!

Then it came to me!

A great way to improve and avoid this "flapping" !

Think of the skis like a play ground SEE SAW ! You know the kind you and I sat on when we were young!

A plank with a steel bar in center. Two seats at each end!

The two seats are the tips and tails of the skis!

You must at all times keep that see saw ON THE TIP SIDE !!!! So you must keep pressure on big toes!
So you must pressure the front of the boots!

For you technical purists, yes later you will play with this pressure so that you will get maximum ski performance by putting tail pressure at the end of a turn. That will be later!

For now,,,you "flapper" skiers think see/saw. Think tip down at all times!

Hope this helps some of you!

Back to this "flapping problem" !
You all know the context . The ski tips "vibrating" or flapping about as you pick up speed !

Just finished testing some 2012 "rockers". That is,,,,,, skis with tip area "raised" at different heights and lengths ( seems all ski companies are experimenting with this design) !

Great for soft powder type snow, but when you get to hard groomed slopes,,this "flapping" becomes very evident,,,even when you put pressure on tips!

If you follow the ski length "suggestions" of some ski companies, you will see some "strange sights! Skiers with short short skis and then some ( with same body type) with long long skis! In my case I ski 175 cm most of the time in all sorts of conditions. Using Rossi charts I am up to 195 cm. based on my ability level, type of snow and type of skis!

You will see much flapping about this season ( and it will not be in the bar ) !

Enjoy the sights!

PS Sorry Rossi still staying at the 175-185 cm. range Even in Alaskan powder !

Terrance,
I was thinking thinking of you while I was testing a new ski!
Why ?

Well these skis had a serious "rocker" at tip and I tried to put major pressure on tips to no avail! They would "flap...flap """ !! Flapping so badly that my skier friends on chairlift would joke by shouting to me, " Pavel,,you are sitting back " or just "FLAP FLAP FLAP " !

Very embarrassing Terrance !

Some skis just flap "naturally" !!!
