Last year we went with 3 families for Xmas at Mayrhofen in a Chalet. Had a fantastic time made better by the efforts of the Chalet staff. We had 2 kids with us that were Xmas believersish. We had an evening Xmas dinner with other folk staying in the chalet, some of which were Aussies in their 20's. Everyone loved the fact there were two Kids and to see there faces when the presents were given out. All made the effort to be Christmasy Childish to get into the spirit of the day. Silly hats and abit of fancy dress on the slopes added to the atmosphere.
Word of warning it didny affect us as we were eating at Chalet but it was hard for some to get a table to eat in the town on Christmas day night!!
Alot of hungry bears needed feeding!!
What would you take for Christmas?

Trust me, the 11 year old will know fine well that Santa doesn't exist. It's safer not to admit it though, in case the stocking's empty in the morning ;)

You beat me to it Kate, that's exactly what I was going to say! :D
Take Life With A Pinch Of Salt... A Wedge Of Lime, & A Shot Of Tequila :-)

RoseR, I can't believe what some of them take either - maybe they don't take any clothes :-)
Like you, we plan to take a small gift each, our Father Christmas on skis who normally sits on the top of our tree & a Christmas pudding.
Apart from that I'm glad to be escaping!
The plan is.... there's no plan!

Heh I don't believe for one second that my 9 year old really thinks a beardy bloke in a red suit is coming down our (non existent) chimney this year....

When my eldest son was about 7 he actually did his best to break the news gently to me, that FC doesn't exist. I must have been so convincing that he thought I had never caught on! Bless him.

for Christmas 2007 we went to Ellmau in Austria. On Christmas Eve the supermarket was frantic all morning for last minute food shopping as it closed at midday. Then in the afternoon, all the ski schools finished early and Santa arrived by hang glider. The little kids loved it (ours were too old and far too cool!)
IN the evening we got a fantastic multi-course meal in the hotel.
Christmas Day was just a normal skiing day, except that we got back to the hotel to find baked stuffed apples on offer in the lounge!
Christmas presents? We took giant toblerones of course!! (and exchanged real pressies when we got home!)
Off to Ellmau again this year!
