...<snip>

Some photos:

Our cabin (snow starting to fall 1 hour after arrival)

Our cabin the next day

Wow: The area looks really pretty, even if at a lower altitude.

I must have had quite a funny facial expression change from viewing the 1st photo of the cabin (and already imagining how unpleasant it must be to walk in ski boots on bare, and possibly even muddy ground, especially if one might have white boots like I do), and then, ... switching to the next photo of the cabin, and seeing the entire place covered in an immaculate white, fluffy blanket! It must have felt like such a gift to see that changing under your eyes!!! Almost like you've custom-ordered the fresh snow as part of your holiday package!!!

Anyway, I am very glad to hear that you had a good time, and THANKS for the thorough report BB!!!

bedrock barney wrote:I've uploaded a short gopro clip. I think it's the 2nd day and is snowing quite heavily.

I'm following my eldest daughter slightly off piste through some trees (for the 1st time.... ).

She is a mono skier and affectionately known as "the levitator" for her ability to glide down and through bumpy terrain.

Anyway, it starts well and ends badly. No dodgy music but I could overdub with Final Countdown by Europe if that would please those who like music with their vids. :D

Oh, and now I have also watched your video: Very Nice! Thanks again for sharing that!!!
I find it in fact refreshing to see somebody posting a video with a good fall! So I wouldn't say at all that it ended badly ;) :)

EDIT:
PS: ... watching all these vids on the forum, is tickling some thought in my head to maybe put a gopro on my list of things to buy for next season... (to which my conservative side wispers cautiously; "Now, now, let's not get carried away: a gopro is not a "need" item!!"...:( ) ...So, remains to be seen if I can restrain myself or not till next January! ...Oh well, if I will not resist the temptation, then we might have some vids posted from the Tignes J2Ski group-holiday next January ... (now, why do I seem to hear that whispering cautionary voice again ? ? ? ... :))

Hi Cat. Glad you enjoyed the report. It was pretty magical. Norway has had a poor snow season but we knew snow was heading our way. The Skiing conditions in the end were excellent. We have more falls on video - I might put together a montage! I think the go pro is cheaper in the USA - go for it :D

Regarding walking around in ski boots, we didn't have to do this (it's a pet hate of mine). We hired a heated ski locker (£25 for the week) located next to the main reception building. Much more enjoyable walking in snow boots
slippy slidey snow......me likey!

Enjoyed the report, pictures and video - very interested and loving the heated ski locker so close. I hate walking in ski boots - luckily we didn't have any of it this year.

Ah, That was a great idea BB; and £25 is not bad at all for one week; at least you got a bit of a price-break on something, after dealing with those outrageous prices you quoted for food and especially for drinks ;) (I couldn't believe my eyes reading you had to pay about £22 for a 6-pack of Corona in a Supermarket! that's more that what we'd pay here in a restaurant or bar!!)

Probably too far south for the light show. I think you need to be in the north of the country near the arctic circle boundary.

Can't believe you missed my in-depth report.... :(
