Pay attention to the title of the thread please!!

I was talking about for skiers, not boarders.

Tony apologies, my mistake.

I did read the title of the thread but thought I would offer my opinion from a snowboarders point of view. I will make sure to keep my opinions to myself from now on, especially when clearly stated that comments from a certain genre are only required.

Worst drag I have been on was Serre Chevalier after the Frejus Chair (I think). Tony will confirm.

Did a 10 foot jump in the air as it got hold of me and made me talk funny for an hour or so.

T-bars used to be quite common on the glaciers in France but rare on normal slopes. Bloody uncomfortable things.

I do like drags though, and very nearly perfected falling asleep on them when doing my seasons way back! They're also a great bad weather option when you'd freeze on a chair. Add it that boarders tend to hate them......!!

There used to be a drag that you could get on a run down from the Grande Motte to get over to Val D'Isere that would lift you some way in the air. Flaine has a couple of drags that do the same.
Good fun when you know it's coming and try to see how far you can bunny hop for!

Tony - I think you may need to choose your skiing partners with more care if you ski with people afraid of a little button lift!

Andy...i was only being sarcy mate. Dont take it so seriously. However I;d asked skiers to comment as I know boarders generally try to avoid drags and t bars anyway and knew what the response would be from boarders.

Indeed. However I went with a couple, an old mate from school. We had been chatting for a year or so about making a trip together, discussing each others ability. You never know until you ski with someone how they get on. Then guy was a competent enough skier, strong and able, but he just hated drags!

There are 2 drags at the top of the Frejus lift; Cretes and Barres. Both have been known to have jumpy starts. You get accustomed to them after a while, but we watched many (experienced) skiers come off on these lifts from the nearby cafe.

You always talk funny, Stewart )
