Hi there, I'm back :)
Just booked my accommodation in Les Arcs 1950 for March next year - staying at posh Raddisson Blu :D
Anyway, we usually fly with Easy Jet to Geneva which normally means that the return flight is a fight at Geneva airport while every flight seem to check into one desk. Meaning its a big scrum usually followed by a busy run through the airport to make sure don't miss the plane that is always the furthest away gate.
Every year, I say never again!! But I keep doing it again. This year I want to change
I am considering flying from Manchester via LHR to Geneva as I have had great experiences with BA.
Has anyone used Monarch or Jet2 to fly out of Geneva? Is it the same brawl that takes place for easy jet?
Thanks
Icy - you will never get rid of me :D

The GVA easyJet scrum is much less stressful if you can fly any other day apart from Saturday... and, to be fair, they usually do keep it flowing well. Not flown either of the others from Geneva recently.

The queues for security are usually worse at GVA!

As you're heading for Les Arcs, how about flying to Lyon or Grenoble? BA have just announced some additional flights for the winter - British Airways add Ski Flights for 2017

p.s. I think our SkiA competition needs a scary tough-mudder picture...

Ah yes - Grenoble of course, is that a big airport or a local one? Monarch do a return to Grenoble £266 return for 2 people - bargain :)

I've looked at BA flights to Grenoble and they are really cheap, however as I am coming from the delightful north via LHR then the journey time is 6 hours :(

The other downside to GVA, is when a transfer picks you up it is at the far end past the station (well it was 2 yrs ago), t hat's one hell of a trek!

Will speak to Mrs Icy - also decisions to be made about transfer. Got a question on that but will start a new thread :)

I will post a mint picture....

It's good to be back :D

Not huge (sort of Stansted-sized?) but bigger and better than Chambery (which gets overwhelmed if dealing with more than one flight at a time). I've been through there a few times and never had any issues.

You might find transfers are more expensive/less frequent than Geneva, although I'm pretty sure Ben's Bus run services there and they're usually well priced. There's also car hire if that's any use?

Car hire in GVA now have to get them from France don't you as swiss car hire cannot be used in france. I've heard of Ben's Bus - I thought it was just like the number 42 from Geneva to a random stop in the middle of resort?

I'm building a spreadsheet. Every good holiday needs a spreadsheet! :)
