A ski centre in Scotland has said it hopes to re-open some terrain for snowsports tomorrow after 48 hours of heavy snowfall.
The Lecht, which has been cut off by snow-blocked access roads this week said that runs were 'filling in nicely' in an online statement and that it hoped to open on Thursday, April 27th.
The Lecht first opened for the 2016-17 season almost six months ago when Scotland received early winter conditions, like the Alps, back in early November.
However the remainder of the season proved very challenging with warm temperatures and dry weather for long spells during most of the intervening 5-6 months meaning that The Lecht and Scotland's other four commercial ski areas have only been able to open limited terrain for limited periods and were forced to close during peak holiday times.
Cairngorm also appears to have enough snow to re-open, but has not announced any plans to do so as yet and is focusing on marketing summer activities in its news feeds.
The Centre was forced to close down yesterday morning when heavy snow blocked the access road up to its base station. The main A9 road between Inverness and Perth was also closed due to accidents related to the snow.
Nevis Range has previously said it's in summer operations mode and there's no news from Glenshee or Glencoe.
