Group Trip(s) to Kaprun - 21st and 28th January 2017

The annual, traditional J2Ski Holiday (other ski trips are available) has changed.
Our informal group of people who came together first in 2013 and gone skiing/boarding together every year since has changed a bit this year. Numbers have grown to the level that it became impossible to find somewhere sensible to meet everyone's needs and so there are basically three trips in 2017.
Some of the old group have decided to organise something separate and I have been told that they plan to put that up on J2Ski for other likely people who may find the holiday of interest.

Next season we have chosen the Austrian resort of Kaprun - staying in the Hotel Tauernhof (http://www.tauernhof-kaprun.at/hotel-kaprun-austria.html).

Just to confuse things there are two dates.
Saturday January 21st and Saturday January 28th with a few lucky souls going for both weeks.
We couldn't agree on a week and so going for two was the obvious solution!

This looks a really decent hotel and not a bad price - so a medium range ski/board trip and possibly a little more upmarket than in the past. Pricing is complex depending on flights and travel, weeks and rooms etc but between £900 to £1000 for Flights, HB in the hotel and area lift pass.

Sadly, one of the group already has his count down sleeps to skiing clock going and has bookmarked the relevant webcams, sorry :(

Mmmm, well you are getting closer.

Last year you were two and a half hours away. This year, just one and a half hours away. Do I take the two one and a half hour drives, or do I wait another season for you to get closer???

Thanks once again to Old Andy for organising a brilliant venue for us. AllyG has done a sterling job in previous years. It is sad to lose the title J2Ski Holiday as we have used this in previous years but I understand it is not an official trip (never was). Such a shame the group has to fragment but some wanted to do different, so.....

However the main group is still all here and looking forward to another great holiday and for any newbies who want to join our happy crowd. I am also lucky to be doing the full 2 weeks :-)

I totally agree with all the above & special thanks to Mr B in what became a complicated situation, but the best news is that I am one of the two weekers :-) so lets see how many cancel their bookings now ;-)

Been there since day one, and still there. Thanks again to all involved in organising, I am really looking forward to it already, even though I can only make the first week. 274 days and 10 hours till I anticipate getting on the Eurotunnel, Ally can you please add me to the sleeps thread :)
