Hi - we went to Kitz last march and are going again this march. it is a real must for us to sort ski lockers out near the Hahnnenbahm - we used Hervis (by far the best price we found)in the carpark south of the train track last time as they let us leave our skis in the back room but they said they don't do this any more - however I wonder if they thought we were asking whether they had specific ski lockers when we phoned as our language skills are rubbish so relied on their english! We have contacted intersport at the cable but they are quite a lot more - they do lockers at the cable but said you can not book unless you have ordered skis with them. Also looked at Winkler but again quite a lot more than the ski price at hervis. Does anyone know if you can book a locker at the cable either via intersport or someone else?

Can't help with Kitz. However, in any other resort I have been in, it is possible to store skis/boots with any of the businesses providing such services. They may give priority to people who book their gear through them and will usually give a good discount or in some cases even free to those renting from them.

I would be surprised if you were not able to obtain storage. Might be worth asking your accommodation - they will often know somebody in town or might even have an arrangement with one of the shops.

We were in Kitz at Xmas and hired lockers at the large ski shop at the foot of the stairs going up to the gondola station, they were great -40 euros for a double locker for a week so it's only 20 per person and they fit both skis, boots and helmets and have warm air to drive boots and gloves. They said it gets busy at peak times so best to get there as soon as you arrive in resort.

I'm also looking into lockers but have a dilemma - we're staying at Hotel Aurach so halfway between Kitz & Jochberg, if we go ahead and get a locker in Kitz that means we're obviously committed to starting and finishing there, whereas Jochberg's also convenient for where we're staying, looks like might be quieter & the slopes look good over that side. Is it worth going for the locker or will it turn out to be more convenient to have the option to start / finish in Jochberg do you think?

Are you driving or relying on skibus? If you are driving, it is not a problem to load the skis into the car. However, if you are using the skibus, it is pain lugging them around the place (in your ski boots). Haven't been to the area so cannot really give any advice on where you are likely to ski. Conditions - both weather and snow - will also influence this decision since you will tend to favour whichever resort has the best conditions on a daily basis. You could go for a locker in Kitz but then if you wake up and want to ski Jochberg, you will have a problem!

Exactly! No, we're not driving sadly so relying on buses. But being halfway between Kitzbuhel and Jochberg it'll be so annoying if we get the locker and end up not using it cos we want to go from / end up in Jochberg - we'd end up having to get the bus past our hotel into Kitzbuhel to put our skis away!

To report back - we went for the lockers at intersport at the bottom of the hanenkahm gondola, it couldn't have been easier, they were very quick and efficient to hire & a bargain €36 for 6 days for double heated locker, you activate the lock with your ski pass. It was worth every euro to be able to dump skis boots & helmets at the end of the day. We didn't use it for a couple of days when we headed off to jochberg/pas thun instead which worked out fine.
