It's near St Jean D'Aulps and about 15 min drive from Morzine. I am thinking of booking a season-long rental as I take a break from work there.

Any advice? I can't work out how connected to the rest of the Portes du Soleil it is, and whether the ski bus goes to Grande Terche itself or if it ends at St Jean D'Aulps which is 5 mins drive away. I'll have a car with me, but it would be good to not have to rely on it all the time.

thanks again you helpful people.

Hi Skite
I went last year for 5 nights as my mate has an apartment there. We were there in Feb and the snow was brilliant so we only skied the Roc d'Enfer St Jean d'Aulp ski domain which we really enjoyed, if you stick to the pistes you can ski the resort out in under a day, we had intended driving to Morzine or Ardent as a means to go to Avoriaz, but didn't bother as we liked the local area and kept finding little gems and some good off piste opportunities, there are some nice little huts withbags of character. Plus the bars in resort were good, especially just beneath the Gondola/ ski hire. I think the ski bus takes people to Morzine around 15 mins away to link into PDS. I like it so much I'm considering buying a small studio there. Only issue as I see it is low altitude.

Ski bus stops right near Grand Terche gondola. Main village of St Jean d'Aulp is 5 minutes down the valley, that road can be a bit iffy in the snow, take chains. The Petit Cock restaurant down in the main village is lovely and well worth a visit.

Thank you - that's my decision made then! I had a look on the piste map - the local ski area looks stunning if there are days when I don't want to go far.
