Hi All,

Does anyone know if lift tickets are applicable for Mt Palandoken? If so, how much or where can I get this info from?

Planning to travel there in January 2016 and board for 5 days straight. Anyone been before, tips/warnings?

Thanks,
Maggie

Have tried Google... but hasn't lead me to a specific site - all vague references from sites/Blog pages.

The Palandöken and Konaklı ski areas now call themselves GrandErzurum http://www.granderzurum.com/en/aboutgranderzurum.html they are not linked, but the lift pass, which costs 35 TL a day is valid in both areas.

There are also some private lifts belonging to a couple of hotels near the slopes at Palandöken, if you want to use those you will have to pay extra if you are not staying in one of these hotels.

Erzurum (pop 367,000) is one of the highest and coldest cities in Turkey. It has a harsh climate and is snow covered for up to 150 days a year, the average annual snowfall is 2-3m. The skiing area is at an altitude of 2200m – 3176m, it's a cold and windy place, with temperatures as low as -40°C in January so be sure to wrap up warm. As they still burn coal for heating, the town is often enveloped in smog during the winter.

Sounds like an interesting place to visit.
