You have lots of choices, where do you want to go? What do you want to do when you get there? What is your budget?

Well we will be in Florida so the closest place to florida within the unites states that we can fly to. We don't want to do anything too active because my 76 year old mother will be with us. Just being able to walk and play in the snow would be fine with us.

Well, this year you are in luck. The polar vortexes have been giving snow to parts of Florida, but I get that's not what your are talking about. I, myself, am flying to eastern Canada this week and plan to go down to the Northeastern States. There is a big storm there right now that is disrupting flights. So finding snow itself should not be a problem.

To answer your question more directly, from Florida, the closest place that would meet your requirements would be somewhere in New York State or New England somewhere or Maine, Vermont. Or, if you are more adventurous, come to eastern Canada. We have lots of wonderful places to see in the Winter. All will be very full of snow. Look online and find a place that suits your family. I'm sure it would not take long to find somewhere to play in the snow. It really has more to do with your budget and activities, because this year, the Eastern Canada and U.S. is jam packed full of winter.

Be aware that winter weather can really disrupt travel. Snow sounds like a lot of fun, however the fun is diminished when it wrecks your travel plans. Plan ahead, ask whomever is helping you with your travel plans. You can easily drive from Florida to the "snow Zone". IF you decide to do this, be aware, driving in winter conditions is a very different thing than driving on dry roads. It takes a little practice. usually however it comes down to slow down and be aware of what's happening around you.

Good luck eh?
