Think again Ian :D

Tony, I was thinking the same I thought St Anton was a nice challenge with lots of demanding runs. I have looked at staying in Stuben but it so small that the beds there are very expensive. We will do it within the next two years for sure. :)
I just love the gravitational pull

It is true that St Anton has some good interesting runs. It is also true that for much of the season, the main leader runs are hoaching, and it would be foolhardy and dangerous to be blasting through throngs.
Hence, I found St Anton to be restrictive for my type of skiing. On the other hand, Stuben and Rendle were very enjoyable, as was Lech. In Stuben, I had a couple of runs with a group of the Austrian team coaches.
My comments are not meant to put anyone else off St Anton, I always enjoy my skiing, wherever it is. Incidentally, Dave Watts forms the same view.

Fair point Dave, Stuben looks like a realy nice and traditional Austrian village/Hamlet.

I struggle to understand how someone who lives in Niederau thinks St Anton is restrictive

I've spent a week in St Anton. I mostly skied elsewhere in the system, either Lech/Zurs or Rendle. Why? Crowded slopes, aggression in the queues, and a long hike to the lift each morning made it easier to take the car to another centre. St Anton's slopes were pretty bare and rock strewn for a January, costly repairs!
