Here is a little something I posted on another forum just to get you in the mood for the winter.
I thought I would add a little Video of one of my most favourite areas to ski in the trees. Who needs to go to Canada or the USA for tree skiing when we have this in Les Arcs.

Not me in the video, Theo again, he does it all so well. But on a snowy day, you will have a good chance of finding a few of us in this forest. Steep and deep but really fun.

Great news, snow falling all the way down to below Arc 1600 again and more on it's way. Enough snow to be riding in the Arc 2000 bowl, but you might drop through onto the odd rock. Snow conditions are improving all the time so fingers crossed for the 11th Dec when the lifts open.

Even better news than yesterday. Snow down to the valley and beyond with a cold spell as well to help form a base. I have been told the canons are still working away and it is hoped that all work taking place in various parts of the resort will be finished in time for the 11 Dec. Will have to get the skins out again this weekend or maybe even go somewhere where the lifts are already open

Hi everyone, been away in the hills again. I am getting quite into this touring stuff. Sorry no update of Les Arcs slope conditions as I was not in that area. Will have a chat with one of those that lives there and update tomorrow.

I am pleased to hear the moving floor in Arc 1950 and the rope tow across the flat from the Arcuable to near the snack bar are finished. Not sure about the moving floor up to the Flames above Arc 2000 yet, but I had heard it was well on it's way. Will find out.

If there is anything like the amount of snow we had in Switzerland over in Les Arcs, then next week is going to be great. Powder all weekend, but yesterday it was a blizzard. The fun of touring for you.

Just a quick update. The snow did arrive in Les Arcs as well over the last few days, although not as much as we had over here. But still good. The snow goes right down to the valley and on down towards Moutier, but do not worry if you are driving out, roads are clear right now. More snow predicted for later this week so all looking great for the start of the season.

One downside, work had to stop on some stuff, but they hope to continue while the weather holds. Still expect to have everything ready for the 11th Dec.

For anyone coming out. There is the Les Arcs Film festival the first week of the season as well. Should be interesting, I attended last year and it was very good and did not effect the skiing or lifts either, in fact it made it better as more was running.

Here is the film festival link if you want to get tickets.

Loads and loads of snow!! and it is still snowing now. Just what you all want to hear. The winter has really arrived and next week should be amazing. The wind is blowing a bit as well so lets hope it drops off and does not spoil all the new snow.

Take a look at the web cams, looking very good. Not long to go now.

What a change in the conditions. After some amazing powder on Saturday and early Sunday the rain came. And it rained and rained. Now the freezing level is way up at 2000m but they say it will start to snow high up again tonight, maybe. Watch this space . I will update again tomorrow evening.

Today's update. Had a good look today, snow from above Arc 1600 to the top, but wet and quite thin in places. They have had the piste bashers out on some slopes higher up. Getting colder again with snow predicted for tonight down to about 1800 or even lower according to one local pisteur I was talking with in the bar. Even the guys that work up there do not agree about how much snow is coming. It is raining outside right now quite heavy. Let's hope it is snowing higher up now. I have had enough of all this rain.

Will have a little trip out tomorrow if the weather is not to bad. Getting quite into this skinning stuff now or maybe the snowshoes and ride back down on my board. Well, I do enjoy coming down on un-tracked snow all on my own! I know, very silly going out alone, but ha, life has to be fun!

Not sure if I posted this already. If you want to get your season Carte Neige Insurance in Les Arcs in person, you can only get it from the lift office in Arc 1600. The lift office is in the courtyard area by the shops. You can also buy it when you get your season pass on-line.
