We are great us Brits we just love a loser, I think I'm right in saying that the funding is linked to proformance 8)

that's a bit like the chicken and egg debate, throw some decent money at british skiing for a prolonged period of time and see the benefits :wink:

Example: British track cycling. Throw more money at it than any other nation and you will win medals (in time).

Put good management in, along with good athletes, and good facilities, and you will increase the chances of getting medals. Spend money wisely.

sort of, the difrence being we already had one or 2 world class cyclists before they threw loads of lottery funding at it, but the ideas right.

You are of course all correct more funding and management is required and also getting kids at a young age, and not just the one's who's parents can afford to fund them 8)

I am afraid to say that to be a top tennis player, skier, etc in this country you have to have rich parents who like to do a lot of brown nosing.
