Can't quarrantine so need to be able to come and go without.
Looking less promising as days go by.
Have to wait and see. Perhaps I should retire and not worry about quarrantine.

I am very definitely in the "wait and see" category. I dearly want to go skiing again in the new year but I currently have very little confidence that this will be possible. The virus is showing no signs of slowing and every time the restrictions are relaxed even a little, it takes off again. Given that hospitals are already under pressure through the winter, the authorities cannot afford to let the infection rate climb. Unfortunately, I cannot see matters improving until well into next year at the earliest :-( .

Hopefully, an effective vaccine will be found soon and we can then get on with our lives and be able to travel and ski safely again  .

Well,Italy closed for leisure travel from South Africa.. there goes my Dolomites at Obereggen... looking at Are' now,as we are allowed to fly to Sweden (on our green list) PCR test before we leave, PCR before departure from Sweden for entry into South Africa..

Sounds fine, BUT if you test positive , two weeks quarantine in state facility (read prison-like) what to do.. so tired of this..

I'm booked into a shared, catered chalet in Morzine for March. I've got a room to myself and prepared to quarantine on return if needed.
I had paid a deposit for Courchevel in Jan but that was cancelled due to Covid so looking for a replacement trip.
I'm concerned about the compromise on the apres and what if anything will be possible but willing to make the best of whatever we can manage this season.

Just watching & waiting presently and like us all, very concerned regarding the Covid-19 implications when travelling across Europe . We usually travel by car (Switzerland, Italy, Austria) but if driving across borders or even stopping for respite & fuel becomes an issue then we will look towards flights. Can't even contemplate not being able to ski this coming season and am quite prepared to quarantine when back in UK.

I haven't checked yet with my insurance (travel, skiing, AA recovery etc) companies what the implications are if travelling to a country which is contrary to FO advice. against FO.

Haven't even factored in Brexit yet!

quite keen to book and prepared to quarrantine on return if that is possible, but the uncertainty is what to do if you test positive.
Am I prepared to wait 24 hrs of my holiday for results as well.
Basically no one can deliver on what they are selling imv, because of fluid protocols re a lockdown.
On that basis, how can tourism survive

Quite prepared to consider self drive but depends on border entry which again, might change at any time.

Also, what will happen if ski resorts
cross borders? Will the tacet border points be patrolled?
Two current choices are French Italian areas and if the border is controlled with entry protocols then that might also rule out those areas.
