Hi
Have never skied in that part of Austria, please could anybody give some advice re skiing in Zell-am-See first week in April.Reading about the resort it looks like it is quite low down and their season is predicted to finish on 12/4. Is it worth going for skiing holiday so late in the season? The other option we looked at is Lech/Zurs/St Anton area. Have been before and really loved the skiing but would like to go somewhere different, also it is cheaper in Zell (because of low altitude resort?)
Any advice/recommendations greatly appreciated. Many thanks!

Not too sure about April but I'm here now for the next three weeks and it is pretty grim. The snow is receding up the mountain!

Davridge, many thanks for your update. Not looking good at all, I'll better start mentally preparing for a nice walking holiday :) Hope it gets colder/whiter for you very soon. The weather seems to be unusual this season. Friends in Maldives saying it is raining...

We had some snow on Sunday (about 9cm) although nowhere near enough, however, conditions have improved slightly. The forecast is for more snow on Friday 16th Jan and a drop in daytime temperatures.

I'm booked to return here on the 28th Feb for a further 3 weeks but depending on conditions I might just return to pick up the car and then drive straight back to the UK.

That's really good to know, thank you. Perhaps won't need the walking boots :) Loved the sound of the place thus have booked the trip - snow or no snow :)
Good skiing to everybody!
