This is our family's first time skiing in Japan. We have decided on the Myoko ski area cause we wanted to go somewhere a little further away from the crowds. Does anyone have any info & do's and dont's on this area ?
ski hire? , great places to eat?.
thanks

I went in 2013. Stayed at the base of akakura onsen, known as akakan for short. Myoko made up of a number of fields suginohara - good for long wide open runs and reasonable terrain park) akakura (good for off piste tree skiing when snow is good) akakura onsen which has olebty of good green runs. Seki onsen which is small but tends to get good powder. For a good day take bus up to Madarao-Kogen. Awesome tree runs. Food wise best is around akakura altgough it is generally pretty quiet. Bring gumboots as it can be hazardous walking around in deep snow in the evenings.
