I'm hoping to head to Geneva on Jan.9th 2015 for five nights. I would like to ski approx. 1.5 hrs drive from Geneva. I'm looking at La Thuile and Courmayeur, the skiing looks good in La Thuile but the night life doesn't look great.
Any advice or recommendations.
thank you

Take a look at La Clusaz-only about 1 hours drive into France. Good area, fairly snow sure, nice town with fair amount of night life. Alternatively, Chamonix has to be in with a shout, also max. of 1.25 hours drive. Classic ski area with large town with lots of night life etc.La Thuile lacks atmosphere but if you are into Italy then Courmayer is great. Best of luck.

Have a look at Les Gets; terrific ski area and easy to get to from Geneva.

If you're travelling from the UK try SNOWCOACH. You fly to Geneva and they will pick you up at the airport. Skiing is in St Gervas/Megeve area; very big and plenty trees in case it snows. We went for 9 days skiing this year and have rebooked for same time 2015. Can't wait!

Another great resort is Avoriaz esp if you snowboard.
