Intermediate skiers, adults and 19-24 year olds (some pretty advanced)...enjoy diversity (blues to Blacks)....enjoy being out from 9 till 5, with "no queue" lunch. Not good with long queues for lifts. Bars and restaurants add to enjoyment, wild nightlife not necessary (normally too tired and must be getting old !!) Narrowing our search down to Val Thorens, Les Menuires , or Arcs 1950....would really appreciate advice and recommendation from anyone who has experience of all three...thanks

Thanks, guys. Timing would be any time from now to end of season....although I would also appreciate thoughts about suitability for early season "next year". Thanks again.

I've had a week in Arc 1950 and whilst it was enjoyable I don't think I would go back. The skiing is good but the village itself was strangely lifeless. It was busy immediately after the end of skiing from say 4.30 to 6pm but quiet after that. Probably because most of the accommodation is self catered. Didn't rate Arcs 2000 at all which is a short chair lift away.

Queueing was generally ok although the lift just above 1950 was often very busy and the cable car up to Aiguille Rouge horribly busy (with 30 minute waiting time). We skied there 2nd week in March 3 years ago.
slippy slidey snow......me likey!

Les Menuires has the best skiing (La Masse) in the Three Valleys on its doorstep. Not particularly attractive or lively in a typically purpose-built French way. I prefer something with a bit more atmosphere these days.

They are young lads wanting some night life and Les Menuires is full of families...the skiing in Les Arcs is ...OK but not that interesting..La Plagne is better..and in March you are snow sure in VT and it's got some life in it...and it's more central than Les M
