Hi Andy. Go for a small airport....Grenoble or Chambrey as examples. The journey over depends how many are going but both these airports do decent car hire.
Hope this helps?

Have a look at Ben's Bus for transfers :)I've never had a problem with them and they're pretty cheap!

Feb 14th next year is probably the start of the Froggy Holidays . Grenoble is an expensive transfer thanks to the distance and tolls involved . On the day in question the traffic can be nasty , Chambery will not be much better. If it's foggy at Chambery be prepared for delays till the sun shines .
There are more flights and cheaper transfer options from Geneva . Cost effective really depends on the number of passengers . Do book well in advance for weekends during French and UK holiday weeks.

I agree car hire may be cheaper for 2 or more .Do include extra charges for snow chains and around €75 for fuel and tolls - at todays prices

Have you considered a tour operator? They can be reasonable and sometimes include transfers.
