Emily Sarsfield considering legal action following non-selection for Olympic Squad

Trying to read between the lines doesn't really help... the decision not to take her to Sochi seems illogical to say the least. She seems to have met all the (published) criteria for selection and the BOA appear to be "giving away" an available place to another country?
Does this all hark back to Eddie The Eagle? Is it the case now that you have to be a dead-cert medal hope and/or already have a high media profile to be able to get to The Olympics?
What do we feel about this?
We think the "official" J2Ski line is that anyone mad enough to enter Ski Cross in the first place should be automatically eligible... the fact that Emily appears to be pretty damned good at it (now ranked inside the world's top 30 as of today, apparently) should seal it.

https://www.change.org/en-GB/petitions/british-olympic-organisation-accept-emily-sarsfield-s-invitation-from-fis-to-participate-in-the-ski-cross-event-at-the-2014-winter-olympics-in-sochi#intro
In the 2010 season Emily created British Skiing history by becoming the first British Female Skier ever to win a Skiing Europa Cup race, and with a string of positive performances in World Cup events over the next few years, she finished 17th at the Ski Cross World Championships in November 2013. She recently satisfied the conditions set out by the International Ski Federation (FIS) to be invited to compete in Ski Cross for the British Olympic team at the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi.
Unfortunately, the FIS invitation came a day after the British team was announced, and the British Olympic Association (BOA) have subsequently declined it. Although they have not given their reasoning, the decision has been endorsed by British Ski & Snowboard (BSS) who said they believe Emily is unlikely to put in a "credible performance" at the games. This, despite her 17th placed finish in the Ski Cross World Championships as recently as November.
Signed!
