Enjoy Year Round Tropical And Snow Holidays

J2SkiNews posted Feb-2013

For the first time two German indoor holiday resorts are offering a joint ticket. Priced at 99 Euros the pass gives access to both the indoor ski centre Alpincenter Wittenburg near Hamburg (www.alpincenter.com) and the Tropical Islands indoor beach resort near Berlin (www.tropical-islands.de).

The 99 Euro pass, which can only be purchased through selected German NETTO stores and is valid to 10 March 2013 includes an overnight stay at the Alpincenter Wittenburg's on-site hotel with indoor buffet breakfast, a day pass for the slopes – which are among the world's most extensive indoors covering 30,000 square metres, and rentals as well as access to the centre's large adventure play area with quad bikes and high ropes course among its attractions.

At Tropical Islands, Europe's largest indoor tropical holiday world, 60km south of Berlin, which was built within a huge hangar originally constructed for a project to recommence building airships in the modern era, which then failed, the pass includes an overnight stay in a 2-person tent furnished with bed box with mattress, bed sheet, pillow and light blanket, buffet breakfast and a day on the beach with the option to wander through the tropical rain forest or visit the largest sauna landscape in Europe.

Sorry, that was a bit tenuous story with having to go to a German NETTO to buy the ticket, but too good to miss! Have been to Tropical Islands when it was new about 10 years back and it was a bit rubbish then as all the plants were stumpy little twigs (They're real not plastic) but it looks much more lush now (from the pics at least). Think it was a vast white elephant project to get airships going again during Gereman re-unificatoon era, they built this gi-normous hangar but never built an airship...
