Don't buy one until you get there due to poor snow conditions.

There's a reason it's only £127

55cm upper, 40cm lower, not great, but hardly "poor". Currently doing 40cm a week. Depth 244cm last season, over 200cm in resort.

For the lift pass decision, I would suggest the same as any other resort. You look at the brochure offer. You look at the in-resort price on the Borovets website. Convert the price from Levs to £s. Look at the difference. If it is close, go with the brochure, because it saves you time having the lift pass delivered to your hotel. You can still buy on the transfer bus.

Some good skiing in Borovets, over 2500m, and they seem to have improved the lift system. Also, one of the best ski schools I have come across.

Bit if snow snobbery above. I remember the 2010-2011 season and seasonairs waiting all season for the good snow which has come and gone in December-Jan. I was still more than happy skiing into April on the hard stuff.

I learnt to ski in Bulgaria, fantastic ski schools, great for families and a bit different to the normal European big 4.

Hope you can send us some powder shots and if not we live in knowledge that 90% of skiers would prefer a sunny day on piste than powder and poor visibility on a big snow day. Good season ahead for all, am sure there will be more than enough and already decent start and cold temps.

Not been to Borovets myself but know plenty of peeps who have, and like Dave Mac and Ranchero have said, they all reported on top class ski schools.

Its not the largest of areas but that isnt necessarily important. I'd personally buy there as its the sort of place where deals can be done first hand (so Im told)
