Does anyone here have any experience of sking in the resorts near Nice? I have skiied in Isola 2000 which was ok but it was only my second ever trip so I was still learning and there is limited skiing there.
I am thinking of trying a long weekend in either Auron, Limone Piedmont or Valberg and was hoping that I might get some more information about any of these.
Thanks.

Not sure of the distance from Nice, but it might be worth taking a look at Prato Nevoso. It isn't a large ski area but enough for a long weekend and a variety of runs. Very friendly and very Italian (if you know what I mean) and was a good confidence building resort for my son-in-law as a 3rd week skier. Night skiing was great fun too.

I had a great weekend in Limone in 2009. As it's in the Southern Alps it has an inconsistent snow record http://www.simolimo.it/climaneve1.html so it's a short notice destination, but when it snows....
You can check the actual snow depth here http://www.simolimo.com/NewIndex as Daved mentioned there are cheap deals http://www.hotelskipass.com/eng/offerta.php and the train ride is very scenic.

Swingbeep, what a good video. It felt like the essence of skiing. Even the stops were due to the goggles being snowed over!
