St Johann in Tyrol or Pongau ?? I went to St Johann in Tyrol last year and although i really did love the little town and the ski area it was quite limited for day and evening entertainment. There really wouldn't be much for your wife to do.

That's a lot of spa treatments. Better take your Gold Card. Might even be cheaper to take her skiing;-)

St Johann is quiet, however Kitzbühel is very close and Is a world famous resort so there should be plenty to do. Hitler's retreat the Eagle's Nest,is meant to be a good day,(however I have not been too busy skiing).

Train to Salzburg from St. Johann stops in Zell am See, worth getting off there. It's on the lake so is nice. Bigger than Kitzbuhel and St. Johann, but like all alpine towns, still not huge so you will struggle to fill in a full day there. If you go to Kitzbuhel on train, make sure you get off at Haanenkahm station and not the other one.
Skied: On snow, On water, On mud, On slush, On ice. Oh, and on a few dry slopes.
